Medoc confirmed as PCI-DSS compliant

On 21st December Medoc received confirmation from Visa Europe of their compliance as a Level 1 Service Provider under the Payment Card Industry - Data Security Standards (PCI-DSS), and will shortly be listed on the Visa web site.

Medoc provides both in-store and on-line systems to 300+ sites and considered it of enormous importance that not only are our own hosting services fully compliant, but also software installed on our Client sites is compliant; enabling them to achieve their own accreditation.

Medoc worked in conjunction with our associated company, Zednax Limited, and with auditors, Sysnet Limited, to achieve this standard; during the process tens of thousands of lines of code were reviewed, and where necessary, re-written. The new release of the web version of the software was launched in July 2007, and the TSM versions are in the process of being rolled out to all our clients.

Medoc will be offering consultancy services to help Retailers ensure that they meet the requirements of PCI-DSS. In today's climate of concern by consumers, both in-store and on the Internet, it is vital for every Retailer to provide the assurance that they are protecting their customers from fraud or identity theft.

Retailers need to be able to know their systems are secure, not only for protection of the customers, but also to avoid the serious penalties imposed by the Payment Card Industry in the event of non-compliance.
